If you want to use a batch file to connect to The Dead Return, cut and paste the code below into DeadReturn. Arma 2 Overpoch Server and new Arma 3 Epoch server with helpful Admins. Goto the Settings page and check the box that says “Launch DayZMod as Steam App”. You can force an update under the settings page. If you are getting a session lost error using DayZLauncher, make sure you have version 0.1.3.4 or greater. No matter which method you use, make sure that you have downloaded Arma2: DayZ Mod via Steam (search the store).
You can now connect to The Dead Return using DayZLauncher OR Steam-Arma2: DayZ Mod (previously broken). This is any server that doesn’t require an extra mod to download (like epoch, overpoch, etc). Changes have been made to the way you can launch and connect to “Vanilla” DayZ Mod servers.
